Size Guide

Choosing the right size at Nolamiro starts with understanding what the numbers on a product page represent and how your own measurements relate to them. Most of our apparel is offered in letter sizes from S through 3XL, and each product page includes a size chart listing body measurements in inches. Because fit varies from piece to piece, the most reliable approach is to compare your measurements against the specific chart on the product you are considering.

What You Will See on a Product Page

Each garment's size chart lists three key body measurements: bust, waist, and hip, expressed in inches. These are body measurements—the numbers describe the range of body dimensions the garment is designed to accommodate, not the flat-lay dimensions of the fabric itself. A product page may also include a short fit note describing whether the silhouette is tailored, relaxed, or structured. Always read both the chart and the fit note together before deciding.

Manual production means measurements can vary by approximately 0.4 to 1.2 inches between individual pieces. This tolerance is normal for woven and embellished garments and should be factored into your decision, especially when your numbers sit near the edge of a size range.

Taking Accurate Measurements

You will need a soft, flexible measuring tape and a mirror or a friend to help. Wear form-fitting undergarments or a thin layer so the tape reads your body, not bulk.

Bust: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level and parallel to the floor across your back. The tape should sit snugly against your skin without compressing the tissue.

Waist: Locate the narrowest point of your torso, typically just above the navel. Keep the tape level all the way around and breathe naturally—do not pull in your stomach.

Hip: Measure around the widest part of your hips and seat, usually 7 to 9 inches below your natural waist. Again, keep the tape horizontal and snug without digging in.

Record each number to the nearest half-inch. If you prefer, you can also measure a garment you already own that fits well and compare those flat-lay numbers to the body-measurement chart, but remember that a garment's flat measurement will always be smaller than the body range it is designed for.

Matching Your Numbers to a Product's Chart

Once you have your bust, waist, and hip measurements, open the size chart on the product page and find the row where all three of your numbers fall within the listed ranges. It is common for one measurement to land in a different row than the others—for example, your bust may align with M while your hip aligns with L.

In that situation, look at the fit note on the product page. A structured bodice or a slim column cut will be governed more by the bust and waist numbers, while a flowing A-line skirt or wide-leg trouser gives more room at the hip. Use the garment's stated construction to decide which measurement matters most for that piece.

When You Fall Between Two Sizes

There is no single rule that applies across all 231 items in our catalog. Some products explicitly recommend sizing up when you are between sizes; others state they fit true to size. Check the individual product's fit guidance first. If the page offers no explicit between-size advice, consider these factors:

  • How much ease you personally prefer—some customers like a closer fit, others want room to layer.
  • Whether the fabric has any stretch (noted on select product pages) or is a rigid woven.
  • Whether the garment has adjustable elements such as a back closure, drawstring, or elasticated section.

When in doubt, the larger size is generally easier to tailor or style around than a garment that is too small to close comfortably.

Still Unsure? Ask Before You Buy

If you have compared your measurements against a product's chart and still feel uncertain, send us a message with the following details so we can point you to the right size range:

  • The product name or link you are considering
  • Your bust, waist, and hip measurements
  • The two sizes you are deciding between
  • How you would like the garment to feel—close-fitting, comfortable with ease, or roomy
  • Any specific number or fit note on the product page that is confusing

Please do not include personal identification documents or photographs of your body in the email. We only need the numbers and the product name to help.
